The best way to sell something is to be honest with your customer or in your auction. I know some people might be tempted to write down a little about the item or maybe not specifically imply some defect.
Remember that if you misinterpet you listing your payee can give you negative feedback. Everything that you do will without a doubt come back to you and bite you in the butt.
Another thing talk in the auction like you would in real life. Just because you have a PHD doesn't mean you need to put big words and sound all fancy. Lose the degree and write like you would talk trust me you'll get a lot more traffic this way.
